Select a default template if you do not have created own Project Templates. If you have a suitable project template, you just have to step through all the windows and fill in the customer and the project number in the Customer and Jobs.īelow is my workflow to create a project if no template exists.

I use a four-digit project number and a customer code consisting of three to five letters. I have SDL TRADOS 2017, I have a txml file (wordfast TM) that I want to open with SDL TRADOS 2017. The project settings can be saved in a Project Template. A new project can be based on the settings made for a previous project. The advantage of defining a project instead is that the settings can be reused. You must select the memory, dictionaries, language, AutoSuggest etc. In my opinion, it is not easier to use Open Document than to define a project. Unlike the old Trados, Studio is based on the use of Projects, also when the job consists of only one file. I still have use for my old printed dictionaries. The shots with blue header comes from Studio 2014, the ones with white header comes from Studio 2015 or 2017. The screenshots come from different versions of Studio.
